Meet Rachel-Claire

Hi! My name is Rachel-Claire Fung and I'm an aspiring UX/UI Designer from Beautiful British Columbia, Canada 

Welcome to my UX/UI Design portfolio! I am driven to help others through creating user-friendly designs and exploring different ways to improve a user experience. I developed an interest in helping solve problems through creative and design-based techniques while exploring and working in the field of Marketing. Through using different online platforms myself and working through e-commerce, I always notice a need for improvement in different areas whether it be something not working properly or something resulting different than expected. Additionally, I've always had compassion and empathy towards others in some way which originally led me to studying and completing a Bachelors in Psychology. This instilled value has influenced me to want to help others and make a positive impact in some way. With my personal experiences, studies and core values in mind, I was naturally driven to the UX/UI design field.

I recently completed the UI/UX Design Part Time Studies program from BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology). This form of design allows me to explore my creativity, grow my knowledge of UX research, Information Architecture, User Interface Design, Wireframing, Prototyping (and more); and fulfills the ability to make a difference in improving peoples’ user experience.

Outside of UX/UI, I also enjoy graphic design and have created several designs for websites and social media platforms through my work in Marketing. I have developed themes from scratch for different campaigns and created them using Canva and Figma. I have experience using Figma for UX/UI design as well as Adobe XD. I constantly try to keep up with the latest trends or styles of design and social media marketing strategies. Part of the reason why I decided to pursue UX/UI is the ongoing room for growth and learning. The goal is to constantly find the best style or solution for the user and it involves updating and restructuring when necessary.

What else do I like?

• Embracing Sceneries & Nature: I am a 'stop and smell the roses' type person. It brings me joy to be around beautiful views and natures creations such as gardens.
• Music: I love all different types of music and genres. I grew up playing piano and still enjoy playing it for fun till this day. I always love discovering new songs and singing along.
• Dancing: This is a form of exercise and art that I've always enjoyed since I was little. I have done tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and more
• Travelling: It excites me to explore new and familiar favourite places.
• My Pets: I have a rescue dog and Chinchilla who both bring a lot of fun to my family and life.
